Meet Chrissy

Christine Gallarello is the owner/director of Sunflower Children’s Academy. She has been serving the community for over 16 years by offering quality care for over 300 children. 

Beginning at age 12, Christine was a babysitter and then became a nanny in college while pursuing her English degree and NYS certificate of teaching. Christine has her Master’s degree in Business and Education. She taught in the public school systems for over 15 years. When her daughter was 3 years old Christine decided to open her own childcare/preschool facility.

Sunflower Children’s Academy has been in operation since 2006. As the needs of the families started to change, she became very interested in learning about holistic nutrition and how it has a direct effect on every day behaviors. After Christine started reading labels more carefully she made the choice to further her education and went back to school for health and wellness, as well as holistic nutrition. 

Combining her love and patience for children along with her certificates in health and wellness the new philosophy “a holistic approach to childcare” was born; a fusion of her passions. Christine loves to cook & prepare nutritious meals for herself, her family and the children of Sunflower. 

When Chrissy is not painting, coloring and teaching children she loves to read, practice yoga and spend her time with her husband, Chris, their daughter, Taylor and fur baby, CJ. She currently resides in Center Morîches, NY.
